Enss Mitchell owned and operation The Comedy Union. A blacked owned comedy club in an urban area of Los Angeles. When he called Guy to tell him that he was closing the club, Guy was not trying to hear it. Enss used to manage The Comedy Store before moving on to do his own thing.
THE COMEDY UNION
Guy did not come up through the Comedy Union, but he knew the importance of Black owned clubs especially in Los Angeles and quickly jumped in to help Mr. Mitchell keep the doors open. Guy brought his ideas and expertise and the club kept their doors open until the club eventually closed for good due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
