When legendary comedian Steve Harvey was on local radio in Los Angeles, he would let Guy Torry come and sit in on Tuesdays to join the show and promote Phat Tuesdays. This is where Guy would learn how to be funny. on the radio as a co-host. He would then take what he learned from there to go on and join other radio shows nationally.
When Steve Harvey exited "The Beat" in LA as the host, the station hired re-tired NBA Champion John Salley to take over. Guy Torry would continue his guest co-host role with John and add his comedy chops to the show. John and Guy would further their friendship and go on to work together on a sports television show on BET named "Ballers".
Local St. Louis legends "Tony Scott" and his co-host Tammie Holland was given a morning show in St. Louis and syndicated in Columbia, SC. When they wanted to add some more comedy magic to the show, they called on Guy Torry to join them and the show would become the morning show to tune in to in those two cities. Guy brought his brand of humor and experice to "Tony Scott and the Breakfast Crew".
Guy Torry had appeared on the legendary "Tom Joyner Morning Show for years as a guest when he would be promoting his comedy shows. When the show was looking for comedians to serve as guest co-hosts to sit in the "Funny Chair", Guy got the call to join and already successful and funny crew. Guy would sit in the "Funny Chair" for the next two years until "Fly Jock" Tom Joyner retired.
"Unstable'd" was a pod cast on Dash Radio that was just that, unstable. That made the show great. The chemistry amongst these four friends meshed well for the point of view the show was. Journalist Mike Hill, Actress and Model Claudia Jordan, Comedian Steve Wilson and Guy Torry.
"Third Degreee Radio" on Dash Radio starred Rap Artists and legends Big Tray Dee and Conyac The XO, DPG DJ Cell, and Guy Torry. This show talked about Hip Hop, Pop Culture, Weed culture and Entertainment. The show was Unfiltered, Raw, Funny and informative.
"Thirty-One Cents", 3 dimes and a penny was a show created by Guy Torry to give three women and Guy (the penny) a platform to have their voices heard and it was on Dash Radio. The show would rotate actually 6 ladies to form the 31 Cents. Rita Williams, Tamara Reid, Chanti Randolph, Carson Williams, LaTisia Keahey and Tay Nells.
"APOLLO NIGHT LA" was Arif Kitchen, Karen Sims, Guy Torry, Dawn Speaks, and Jocko Sims. The show was a LIVE podcast that gave unsigned music artist of any genre a platform to play their music have it critiqued by us a nd be interviewed. It was funny, informative and sometimes wild as FUCK!
