Guy started on the "Martin" show as a Production Assistant. In laymen terms that would be a glorified goofer. He went on the do punch up writing on scripts, and was awarded to co-write an episode that is touted as one. of the finniest ones called "Romantic Weekend" AKA "Chilligans Island".
After doing a set on "Def Comedy Jam", the next season he was tapped to be a punch up writer for the variety of celebrity. guests hosts for Def Comedy Jam's All Star season. The show would have Joe Torry, Chris Rock, Queen Latifah, Adele Givens, Ricky Harris and a few more.
National recording artist "Brandy" was the star of her sitcom and in season 2, Guy was added to the staff to do punch up writing and audience warm-up for a few episodes. The experience and relationships from that gig would help Guy go on to help him move on to other writing gigs.
Guy Torry was added to the staff of UPN's "Minor Adjustments" as a punch up writer which starred Stand-Up comedian Rondell Shearaden and. Wendy Rachel Robinson. He was given the chance to co-write an episode of the show called "Baby Angst" which turned out to be a stellar one.
Guy grew up a huge fan of Pro Wrestling. He's rush home from church in St. Louis every Sunday morning and watch 'Wresting at The Chase", "NWA", and WWF. Never in a million years would he think that he'd meet some of his heroes back then as the writer and host of WWE's reality show "WWE House".
Comedy legend Paul Mooney called on Guy and a few other comedians to help write some comedy skits for him for his comedy special the "Godfather Of Comedy". Guy got a chance to perform and add his comedy writing for one of the funniest comedians to have ever pick up a microphone.
